The client is a large download, so set aside the disk space before you begin: roughly 23 GB extracted, plus room for the archive while it downloads.
STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD
Use only the links published on this site. The client is distributed through file-hosting mirrors, and each release lists the exact file name, byte size and SHA-256 checksum. Compare the checksum after downloading; if it does not match, delete the file and download again rather than running it.
STEP 2 - EXTRACT
Extract the archive to its own folder, for example D:\Games\Jade Dynasty Mortal. Do not run the game from inside a compressed archive, and avoid installing into Program Files - Windows restricts writes there and the launcher needs to update its own files.
STEP 3 - INSTALL DIRECTX (do not skip this)
The engine needs the legacy DirectX 9 runtime. Windows 10 and 11 ship with DirectX 12 but do NOT include the older d3dx9 libraries this game loads, so a fresh Windows install will fail here even though every other game works.
The installer is included with the client. Open the element\directx folder and run DXSETUP.exe as administrator. It takes about a minute.
If you skip this step, the launcher completes normally and then the game closes immediately, or shows an error message in Chinese characters. That message is the DirectX warning - it is not a corrupted download.
STEP 4 - FIRST LAUNCH
Run Launcher.exe. On the first start it contacts the update server, verifies your files and enables the START button. The status line at the bottom shows the game version, the file check and the update result.
If the launcher asks you to select an update server, open the dropdown, choose the entry for this server and confirm. The choice is remembered afterwards.
STEP 5 - CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
Register on this website, then use the same username and password in the game client. Sign in with the name and password you made on this site.
